Welcome to Big Stone Therapies Avera Marshall's Athletic Training website.
Athletic training is practiced by athletic trainers, health care professionals who collaborate with physicians to optimize activity and participation of patients and clients. They are licensed health care providers who practice under the direction of a physician. Athletic trainers have a minimum of a Bachelor's degree from an accredited athletic training curriculum, and are certified by the Board of Certification for the Athletic Trainer.

I provide athletic training services to Marshall High School and Minneota High School. I also cover home football games at Lakeview High School.
I am a recent graduate of South Dakota State University in Brookings, SD. While completing my undergrad degree, I worked primarily with the Jackrabbit football team. I am most interested in student athlete interactions and helping students through the recovery process after an injury. I was a collegiate athlete that suffered from a career-ending injury, which allows me to easily relate to the feelings student athletes may face throughout the recovery process. Throughout this past summer, I also helped with the Peak Performance program through Avera Marshall.

I provide athletic training services to Marshall High School and Lakeview High School through a contract between Avera Marshall and Marshall High School. I have implemented the ImPACT program at Marshall High School and we are utilizing this program with both schools to help better manage concussions and our return to classroom, as well as, play decisions. Allowing them to have a safe return to play and to decrease the long term effects a concussion may have on those student athletes is our goal. I am also interesting in working with athletes on injury prevention and strength and conditioning. I also help run the Peak Performance program through Avera Marshall.
